xybionXybion has been selected to provide a preclinical management platform for the U.S. Army to automate scientific research operations at the military branch’s Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick in Maryland.

The company will deploy its Pristima Suite to USAMRIID’s biosafety facility as well as perform system validation, configuration and training support services, said Tuesday.

Pristima is designed to help users track and manage veterinary facilities and research subjects throughout the drug safety research process.

“The critical work being performed by the scientific staff at the USAMRIID is incredibly important to the safety of our military personnel and to national security since many of the drug and vaccine research crosses over to the civilian population,” said Xybion CEO Pradip Banerjee.

Carlos Frade, vice president of preclinical research and development solutions at Xybion, added the company has worked with the institute’s scientific staff over the past year to determine and address the research team’s requirements.
