Corey Schumacher

Corey Schumacher will be speaking at the Unmanned Systems Forum held by the Potomac Officers Club on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

Schumacher is the Principal Integration Engineer for Autonomy for the 711 Human Performance Win. In his current role, he is Chief Engineer for the “Autonomy for a Loyal  Wingman” Initiative and  responsible for leading all systems engineering and integration activities in the ALW Initiative. He also  coordinates plans and requirements across technical efforts in four Technical Directorates of AFRL.

Previously, he was Sr. Research Aerospace Engineer for the Air Force Research Laboratory and led division-wide technology development efforts in UAV autonomy and teaming. As  AFRL Program Manager for a multi-Directorate Initiative in Collaborative System Control, he led innovative basic and applied research effort spanning 6 Directorates and involving 20 researchers and developed program plans and set technology direction for $30 million+ in programs.

His team won several major USAF awards, including the 2008 US Air Force’s Outstanding Scientist (Team) Award and the 2009 Harold Brown Award.

He received his PhD in Philosophy in Aerospace Engineering  from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and his MBA from University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

He is the author of 66 technical publications, including 11 refereed journal papers, 5 book chapters, and numerous conference papers.
