AT&T will compete for task orders to provide telecommunications services and technologies for federal agencies under the potential 15-year, $50 billion Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract the General Services Administration awarded Tuesday.

The EIS contract aims to meet the technology requirements of approximately 53 federal agency clients and replace GSA’s Washington Interagency Telecommunications System 3, Networx and local telecom support contracts that are set to expire in 2020, AT&T said Tuesday.

Kay Kapoor, president of AT&T’s global public sector, said the company will leverage its experience in the areas of cloud, cybersecurity, networking, internet of things and mobility to help agencies modernize their communications systems through EIS.

AT&T is one of the 10 companies that won spots on GSA’s EIS contract that has a five-year base term and 10 option years.
