Serco Lands Potential $78M Contract for ESA Scientific, Engineering Services - top government contractors - best government contracting eventSerco has won a potential five-year, $78.1 million “framework” contract to provide specialist scientific and engineering services to the European Space Agency.

The company said Tuesday it will deploy skilled personnel to support ESA in 16 focus areas that include business management, data analysis, engineering, electromagnetics, information technology, navigation, optics, product assurance, robotics, space science and software development.

“We have supported the ESA for many years and this award is testament to the skills and commitment our experts have demonstrated,” said Michael Alner, managing director of Serco’s European subsidiary.

Serco will also support eight agency directorates and multiple projects such as the development of Europe’s Galileo global navigation system, Mars Express Mars orbiter mission and BepiColombo mission to Mercury.

The contract has a three-year base period that began July 1 along with two one-year options.
