CAE-Elbit Team to Vie For UK Air Training Support Contracts - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe U.K.-based subsidiaries of CAE and Elbit Systems have partnered to pursue business opportunities under the British defense ministry’s air training program.

CAE UK and Elbit Systems UK will vie for the Defence Operational Training Capability (Air) program’s core system and services project as well as the Typhoon Future Synthetic Training effort, CAE said Tuesday.

Jonathan Browning, CAE UK vice president of strategy and business development, said the two companies will offer integrated, interoperable and distributed mission training systems to the U.K. defence ministry.

The DOTC(A) program and training opportunities that fall under it are intended to facilitate total force training for the U.K. air force; address a defense-wide need to incorporate live training into the simulated training environment; and help balance live and synthetic training.

TSFT aims to equip Typhoon fighter aircraft pilots with a synthetic training platform that would include features such as collective training.
