Former U.S. Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James has been named a special adviser at Ultra Electronics‘ 3eTI cybersecurity business.

The more than 30-year public and private sector veteran will offer advice on 3eTI’s efforts to design and implement defense-related programs, the company said Tuesday.

She also seeks to apply her national security experience to help drive the company’s innovation programs to help secure U.S. critical infrastructure assets with technology.

“I look forward to a fresh new set of challenges helping 3eTI expand its profile and leadership in critical systems cybersecurity,” James said.

Prior to Air Force, James led Science Applications International Corp.’s technical and engineering sector as its president and served as assistant secretary for reserve affairs at the Defense Department during the Bill Clinton administration.

Rockville, Maryland-based 3eTI develops technology platforms designed to secure military-grade communications networks and industrial control systems against cyber threats.
