Poland Implements CAE, Airbus Co-Developed Simulator for C295 Transport Aircraft - top government contractors - best government contracting eventPoland’s air force has accepted a full-flight simulator developed by CAE and Airbus Defense and Space to help train pilots of the military branch’s C295 transport aircraft fleet.

C295 FFS is equipped with CAE’s True six degree-of-freedom electric motion technology, Medallion-6000 visual system and a computer-generated forces tactical environment, the company said Tuesday.

The platform also features an architecture based on the Open Geospatial Consortium Common Database standard which looks to boost the re-use and interoperability of the synthetic environment database across Poland’s armed forces.

“This C295 simulator joins a CAE-built SW-4 helicopter simulator that recently entered service with both representing the commitment the Polish Air Force is placing on simulation-based training,” said Marc-Olivier Sabourin, vice president and general manager for defense and security at CAE’s Europe- and Africa-based operations.

CAE noted it will also supply debriefing, database management and tactical scenario development stations as well as offer on-site maintenance and support services for the C295 FFS through the next two years.
