Saab Unveils Military Training Visualization Tool - top government contractors - best government contracting eventSaab has launched a new tool for military training leaders, observers and controllers to obtain a 360-degree view of battlefield exercises.

The We:Are training application employs mobile augmented reality technology and works to help users visualize movements, targets and engagements in real time, Saab said Monday.

The tool is based on Google Maps app and designed to be compatible with Saab’s training platforms.

We:Are is designed to also help exercise leaders identify the number of troops marked injured or killed during an exercise, as well as the kinds of injury sustained.

“With the device, the exercise leader can focus on what is important, which is to keep track on the individuals and evaluate entire troops in the field”, said Asa Thegstrom, head of business training and simulation at Saab’s Dynamics business area.

The company is showcasing the tool at the I/ITSEC 2017 event in Orlando, Florida.
