The U.S. Navy has awarded Raytheon an $8.8 million contract modification to develop additional software and hardware for the service branch’s F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft sensor systems.

The award modifies a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract and work will occur through December 2021 in El Segundo, California, the Defense Department said Tuesday.

F/A-18E/F is a fighter aircraft primarily used for the Navy’s air superiority missions, while EA-18G is an electronic warfare variant of the Super Hornet platform.
