Science Applications International Corp. has landed a spot on a potential $980M contract to provide support services to the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division.

SAIC said Thursday it will compete with 21 other contractors for task orders to design, develop, analyze, integrate, modify and deliver training platforms through the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

Jim Scanlon, senior vice president and general manager of SAIC’s defense systems customer group, said the award will help expand the company’s presence in Orlando, Fla.

“We are excited to potentially deliver new training systems, modifications and upgrades to our troops.”

SAIC may also perform work for other Navy commands, the Defense Modeling and Simulation Office, the U.S. Marine Corps, Army and Coast Guard.
