Cubic Corp.’s global defense segment has been awarded a $1.3 million contract to provide more units of Engagement Skills Training 3000 system to the U.S. Army Reserve.

Cubic said Monday the EST 3000 is a small arms virtual training tool designed to hone users’ marksmanship, judgmental and collective firing skills through game-based graphics.

Bill Toti, president of Cubic’s global defense segment said the EST 3000 platform is based on the firm’s EST 2000 system, a U.S. Army-certified small arms marksmanship simulation tool.

The contract also covers simulated weapons and related services.

The Army Reserve will integrate the Virtual Battlespace 3 laptop trainers with the EST 3000 platform to create a Mission Leader Trainer structure in order to support marksmanship, leadership training and tactical operations among soldiers.
