Raytheon to Supply IFF Transponders for US, Norwegian C-130 Planes - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRaytheon‘s space and airborne systems business has received a $30.4 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide new and updated APX-119 Identification Friend or Foe transponders for C-130H and C-130J military transport planes.

The Defense Department said Friday the firm-fixed-price contract includes a $725,000 foreign military sale of the IFF transponders to Norway.

Work will occur through Feb. 29, 2020, in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and Largo, Florida.

The obligated amount of $29.6 million at the time of award is from the aircraft procurement funds of the Air Force, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard.

IFF is a command-and-control technology designed to help military and civilian aircraft operators to recognize friendly aircraft, vehicles or forces.
