Jon Rambeau, vice president and general manager for Lockheed Martin‘s C6ISR line of business, has said the company has increased the number of its cybersecurity employees within the Orlando, Fla., area by 400 percent over the past five years, the Orlando Business Journal reported Friday.

He told the publication in an interview the defense contractor aims to help clients address cyber threats by incorporating security initiatives into the company’s product design phase.

“We’re now thinking of how to protect every piece of hardware, software and system that we deliver to our customers, whether that’s a ground vehicle, aircraft or an integrated command and control system,” Rambeau added.

Fifty-two of the 623 current job vacancies within Lockheed’s missile and fire control and rotary and mission systems units in Orlando specifically call for information technology professionals.
