Maximus has agreed to purchase Veterans Evaluation Services' (VES) parent company for $1.4 billion in support of its long-term corporate strategy for revenue growth and ongoing strategic priority of expanding footprint in the U.S. federal market. The acquisition, which is subject to U.S. antitrust filing requirements and customary closing conditions, is expected to close during Maximus' third fiscal quarter, the company said Wednesday.
MoreMaximus announced on Thursday its appointment of Teresa “Terry†Weipert as general manager of the company’s U.S. Federal Services Segment. Weipert will replace the retiring previous Wash100 Award recipient Thomas Romeo. Romeo will stay with the company until July to assist with the transition and then serve on Maximus’ advisory board.

MoreMaximus has received certification from a health care accreditation body to assess the credentials of physicians who support the firm's government clients. The National Committee for Quality Assurance granted the Credentials Verification Organization designation after the company underwent on-site assessments performed by a group of medical and credentialing professionals, Maximus said Monday.
MoreMaximus' federal business has obtained a Maturity Level 5 appraisal for its service establishment and management processes under the CMMI Institute's Capability Maturity Model Integration program. The CMMI ML5 designation validates organizations' capacity for process modernization and is the highest rating under the appraisal program, the company said Thursday.
