CACI International has booked a potential $1.3 billion task order to provide U.S. European Command and Africa Command with communications and information technology expertise over a five-year period. Vibrint has partnered with light fidelity technology provider pureLiFi to develop a secure wireless communications capability designed to safeguard government and national security data in classified environments. Tom Lash, CEO of Vibrint, said in a statement published Wednesday the new Vibrint LiFi technology uses light waves instead of radio waves to create ultra-secure wireless data communications networks.

Rancher Government Solutions has entered into a strategic alliance and reseller agreement with the defense solutions division of Curtiss-Wright with the aim of bringing Kubernetes and container management technologies to the tactical edge. Lockheed Martin will collaborate with Intel and its newly launched standalone business Altera to build a sensor open systems architecture-based airborne electronic defense platform for the U.S. Navy's MH-60R multi-mission helicopter to support a program of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. The U.S. Air Force has concluded the initial operational test and evaluation of a BAE Systems-built electronic warfare system for the F-15E Strike Eagle and F-15EX Eagle II aircraft. BAE Systems said Tuesday it supported the service branch’s operational test and evaluation center during the IOT&E effort for the Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System as part of the Northern Edge 2023 large force exercise.

Emergency services should include modern voice communication platforms in any discussion on capability modernization, according to Stacy Schwartz, head of U.S. public sector and education at RingCentral, the provider of a cloud-based communication platform. In an opinion column published Wednesday on StateTech, Schwartz says that unlike analog voice communication tools, modern voice comes in the form of mobile apps that can integrate various data streams, benefiting disaster response as well as daily emergency medical services.

Terran Orbital will unveil at the upcoming SATELLITE 2024 trade show SmallSat GEO, an offering meant for the communications market that will operate in geosynchronous orbit. Terran Orbital said Thursday that SmallSat GEO marks its entrance and expansion into the small satellite geosynchronous orbit market, an effort for which the company will take advantage of its prior GEO mission experience and its investment in an advanced manufacturing facility with automation in build and test.
