Top 100 Places to Work in IT: Did Your Firm Make the List?

Computerworld has revealed its 2010 ranking of the top 100 places to work in IT.  Several government contractors were included on the list, which factored in variables such as minority presence and training funding.

Tysons-based Booz Allen Hamilton registered at the runner-up spot, while Verizon Wireless came in eighth.

McLean’s MITRE placed 26th, while Raytheon was placed in the 48th position.

Xerox came in 91st and Red Hat 95th.  SRA rounded out the list at 100.

Bates recently spoke to ExecutiveBiz up and coming wireline and wireless broadband services to watch within the federal space.

EB: What are the latest security solutions you are seeing in the federal space?

Paul Bates: I split security solutions into a two areas: cyber security solutions and information assurance, which includes managed security services.  We are seeing more requirements where the government is looking for security partners so they can leverage commercial best practices and efficiencies in managed services.  The work we are doing for DHS is a great example of the kind of partnership I see between government and industry going forward. There also is strong interest in “green” services like our Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) solution, including our current Converged Fiber-to-the Desktop offering, that I think will be a big player in that world.

Booz Allen Named Top GovCon Firm

GovCon held its annual event last night and named Booz Allen Contractor of the Year.

October 7th, McLean Virginia, the 6th annual GovCon awards were held at the Tyson’s Corner Ritz Carlton before a fully packed 5th floor audience of government contracting executives. Of note, Booz Allen was named Contractor of the Year along with other winners you can find here.
