Ernst & Young recently named Herb Engert as its Mid-Atlantic Strategic Growth Markets Leader. In his new role, Engert will oversee the strategic growth markets practice (SGM) in Richmond, McLean, Baltimore and Philadelphia. Ernst & Young“™s SGM multi-disciplinary teams help clients accelerate their growth in the marketplace. Now, Engert is helping keep the momentum going. A transaction advisory partner with more than 18 years of experience in both public accounting as well as in the private sector, Engert will be responsible for leveraging the “synergies” between private equity initiatives and strategic growth markets.
“We understand growing companies and the delicate balance between sustaining growth and innovation, while managing risk and building infrastructure,“ says Engert. “By accessing our global resources we are able to help such companies with mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions; align tax strategies with business goals; manage risk and improve processes; and reduce the complexity of regulation and reporting.“
In the past, Engert led a variety of transactions at Ernst & Young, such as private and public debt and equity offerings, initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Engert is involved in his local community serving on the boards for Volunteer Fairfax, The Phillips Program and Bread for the City. He is also active in the Northern Virginia Technology Council. Engert is a graduate of St. John Fisher College in New York and resides in McLean, Virginia.
