Yesterday, Harris Corporation announced that it is expanding its global presence with a new business operation. Under the leadership of Leon Shivamber, former corporate vice president of Supply Chain Management and Operations for Harris, the company is launching an International Business Development team as part of its Government Communications Systems Division in the United Arab Emirates.
Harris has served customers in the region who have come to rely on its mission-critical communications, IT systems and services for 25 years. The new operation will provide secure network solutions for security, energy and healthcare customers, among others.
“”It’s prepared the way for us as we now reach out to better serve even more customers in this part of the world. They will benefit from our increased presence and growing commitment here,” said group president of Government Communications Systems Dan Pearson, crediting the company’s previous international efforts for laying the groundwork for this endeavor.
Shivamber, a former McKinsey and Company consultant, has led the transformation of Harris Corporation’s supply chain capabilities. Also joining the Abu Dhabi team are Harris engineers Virgil Russell and Deke Johnson. Russell, who began with the company in 2001, has supported business development in commercial, civil and national space areas. A 12-year Harris veteran, Johnson has more than 25 years of engineering and business development experience in government and international markets.
