Karen Evans, an independent consultant in the areas of leadership, management and the strategic use of information technology and former Presidential Appointee as the Administrator for E-Government and Information Technology at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) within the Executive Office of the President, is certainly an authority on the subject of risk management in emerging technologies.  She currently serves on the Kennedy School of Government’s Leadership for a Network Enabled World Policy Group led by Jerry Mechling.  She had this to say about efforts to manage risk in technology deployment:

“I appreciate the focus on new technologies to improve services to the citizens and federal agencies attempting to manage the potential risk of their deployment in their enterprises. However, no matter what technologies are deployed, we need to also focus on the workforce, whether private or public, to ensure they have the necessary skills sets and tools to manage the services appropriately.”
