LLSlogoThe National Capital Area Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) raised $3 million at the 23rd annual Leukemia Ball presented by Baker Tilly. Proceeds benefit LL“™s mission to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The evening was emceed by area news personalities Lindsay Czarniak, Laura Evans, Andrea Roane and Alison Starling. Nearly 2,000 guests enjoyed the humor of comedian John Pinette and musical performance by Jackson Browne. Guests also enjoyed a silent auction with 500 unique packages, many including airfare from American Airlines, and had a chance to win one of two vehicles as a part of the Mercedes-Benz raffle.

“Despite the economic obstacles we faced, I am so thrilled to announce that our 23rd annual Leukemia Ball raised $3 million in support of our mission,“ said Donna McKelvey, Executive Director of LLS“™s National Capital Area Chapter. “We greatly appreciate the business leaders who have worked tirelessly to ensure we reached our goal, including our first-ever presenting sponsor, Baker Tilly.
