Deviant developers are utilizing compromised iTunes apps accounts to boost rankings and increase sales. The hijacked accounts have purportedly been used to purchase copies of obscure Vietnamese-language eBooks, likely to boost rankings.
The eBooks have been pulled from the apps store and the seller’s account has been suspended, according to media reports. At the time of the attack, 42 of the top 50 eBooks were sold by the particular seller.
The issue was first brought to the attention of Apple authorities by legitimate apps developers.
