The National Cyber Security Alliance has named Michael Barrett, PayPal’s chief information security officer, to its board of directors.
PayPal is the third company this year to join NCSA’s board. The company will work with board officers from AT&T, ADP, Cisco, EMC, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Google, Lockheed Martin, McAfee, Microsoft, SAIC and Symantec.
“PayPal has deep experience working with consumers and businesses to make sure they have a safe and secure online experience as they make payments and money transfers,” said NCSA Executive Director Michael Kaiser. “We are thrilled to welcome Michael Barrett to our board, and NCSA will benefit greatly from his knowledge in keeping citizens safe from financial fraud to more freely enjoy their online experience.”
Prior to joining PayPal’s security team in 2006, Barrett served as vice president of security and utility strategy at American Express.
“The security and protection of consumers and their personal information is at the core of PayPal’s business,” he said. “We are excited to work alongside the NCSA and other members of the board to support its mission to educate citizens about online safety. “
