“SafeNet and NetApp are working together to make data-protection solutions available inside the network extendable beyond the network as customers adopt cloud-computing solutions,” said Russell Dietz, SafeNet vice president and chief technology officer. “Working with NetApp enables us to offer data protection within the storage market. The end result is a robust security solution for customers that need persistent protection of and secure access to their data today and as they move to the cloud.”
SafeNet’s Information Lifecycle Protection Solutions combine encryption, authentication and standards-based key management to secure data throughout its lifecycle when it is at rest, in use and in motion. Customers can protect data and manage policies for databases, applications, file servers, laptops, workstations and removable media to protect identities, transactions, data and communications.
Collaborating with NetApp, the service will be expanded to include security for storage and data-management solutions supporting existing data center storage modes with the possibility to protect emerging SaaS, public, private, and hybrid cloud-delivery models.
“Our customers are excited about new storage technologies to deal with the explosive growth in data storage, but are concerned about maintaining ownership and control of their data,” said Tim Russell, vice president and general manager of storage security at NetApp. “By working with SafeNet, NetApp will help our customers protect their sensitive data throughout its lifecycle as they modernize their infrastructure.”
