The American Red Cross will throw its Fire and Ice Ball Oct. 16 to commemorate the sacrifices of the nation's Armed Forces and salute its bravery.
James W. Sheaffer, president, CSC North American Public Sector, will chair the event, which will also honor Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James T. Conway with a lifetime-achievement award.
“The American Red Cross was born on the battlefield more than 150 years ago,“ Sheaffer said. “We recognize and thank the members of our Armed Forces for the sacrifices they make on behalf of all of us. This gala is also a chance to recognize the role the American Red Cross plays in supporting these brave men and women.“
The event will be hosted by Associated Press reporter Kimberly Dozier and will feature hundreds of dignitaries, including business, political and military leaders.
