The National Institutes of Health has awarded CSC an IT support contract that could be worth up to $54 million, the company announced today.
The contract has a one-year base with four one-year options, and will include work for the Biomedical Translational Research Information System and Clinical Research Information System programs. More specifically, CSC will provide systems integration, data repository development and project management services for NIH.
The two programs aggregate data from NIH databases and support clinical care and research, respectively.
“For nearly 10 years, CSC has proudly supported the NIH research community and the agency“™s mission to seek and apply fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems,“ said Dr. Robert Wah, vice president and chief medical officer of CSC“™s North American Public Sector. “This work demonstrates the evolution that we see as the healthcare industry moves from paper records to electronic health records, then to interoperable networks and to this next stage of powerful analytics and population analysis.“
