SAIC Supports Servicewomen with Arlington Ceremony, Charitable Donation

SAIC hosted an event this week in honor of servicewomen at the Women's Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery this week in which they pledged their support to help the organization's foundation with STEM education.

The company donated $25,000 to the foundation that built the memorial, and another $10,000 to its advisory board on education. This matches SAIC's donation of $35,000 to the foundation last year.

The event headlined guest speakers such as former astronaut Susan Still Kilrain and retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Wilma Vaught, one of the nation’s early women general officers and the president of the Women’s Memorial Foundation.

“SAIC is proud to support the Women’s Memorial and to have this opportunity to recognize the talent, sacrifice, and dedication of those who have served and continue to serve their country,” said Deborah James, SAIC executive vice president for Communications and Government Affairs.

The Women's Memorial features a computerized, interactive database of photographs, military histories, and individual stories of more than 250,000 military women.
