CACI International will support the Passenger System Program Office in a new deal with the Customs and Border Protection agency, the company announced today.

The division, part of the Department of Homeland Security, has asked CACI to aid in developing new automated application systems to process travelers at checkpoints and maintaining current systems that circulate data securely throughout its network.

The CACI task order is worth $29 million with a base period of one year and four one-year options. CACI has supported the DHS since 2002 in a number of contracts involving program support and IT work.

Bill Fairl, CACI's president of U.S. operations, said that the award would strengthen the company's DHS presence and expertise in border security.

“In helping to safeguard our country, we increase our ability to be a national asset for national priorities,“ he said.

CACI President and CEO Paul Cofoni added: “The threats to America's borders and homeland are always present, and CACI works at the technological heart of efforts to counter these dangers. We are able to provide the expertise in support of CBP's mission of keeping terrorists and their weapons out of the United States.“
