An annual list ranking the top 100 most influential movers and shakers has named executives from VMware, Intel and Hewlett-Packard among the top 10 most powerful IT leaders.
Everything Channel‘s CRN recognizes the executives who have changed the way the channel does business through engineering blockbuster acquisitions, developing breakthrough technology initiatives and spearheading aggressive channel sales expansions to significantly change the balance of power in the technology business.
In the Most Influential Executive category, Paul Maritz, VMware president and CEO, placed first on the coveted list. CRN attributes Maritz’s placement on his having “the technical chops to know where the market is going and he isn't afraid to make the necessary big bets.”
Intel President and CEO Paul Otellini was named the second most influential executive, and CRN noted his near-impossible accomplishment of “making the chip giant that dominated the PC market relevant in a world of smartphones and cloud computing.”
