The Defense Department’s the new Deputy CIO and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Robert Carey will deliver his first-ever public address in his new role tomorrow.

The breakfast briefing “New Frontiers of Cybersecurity: Emerging DoD and DHS Cybersecurity Strategies,” produced by CyberSecurity Seminars, will be held between 8-10:30 a.m. at Crowell & Moring’s offices in Washington, D.C.

Carey’s talk comes just 10 days after assuming his new role and three days before Teri Takai is expected to assume her duties as the new CIO at DoD.

“We are very proud to feature Mr. Carey in his first public address as the new Deputy CIO at DOD,” said Thomas K. Billington, founder and CEO of CyberSecurity Seminars. “His talk comes as the department shapes its new cybersecurity strategy and reorganizes dramatically in the midst of an unprecedented belt-tightening fiscal climate. You won’t want to miss him or the other two great keynotes.”

Joining Carey, who formerly served as Navy CIO, as keynotes at the event are: Bruce McConnell, counselor to the deputy undersecretary for National Protection and Programs Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security, and NetWitness CEO Amit Yoran.
