Rockwell Collins to Hire 800, Calls for Tax Cut Extension

Rockwell Collins will hire 800 new employees over the next year, the company announced this week.

The company cited the R&D tax credit recently passed as the reason for expansion. It “has helped us invest in cutting-edge technologies that have positioned us as a global leader in the aerospace and defense electronics marketplace,“ said Clay Jones, Rockwell Collins chairman and CEO.

About half of the new hires will be in the company's headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Rockwell Collins, hoping to invest more in its research expansion, has joined 1,300 companies in a joint letter to Congress to extend the R&D Tax Credit another year.
