GE, Eaton Corp and private equity company Warburg Pincus are still in the running in the final stages of the auction of BAE Systems' Platform Solutions Unit, according to Reuters.

GE, which Reuters sources said was “very interested“ in the deal, is already a major customer of BAE’s aircraft engine controls.

Although the details of the auction have not been made public, the unit is expected to be sold for between $1.6 billion and $2 billion.

The BAE division focuses on navigation, surveillance and engine controls for commercial aircraft, as well as on engines for hybrid trucks and buses.
