Robert Verbeck has been named the CFO of Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security business, the company has announced.
Verbeck was most recently CFO of the Military Aircraft unit of BDS. He joined McDonnell Douglas, a Boeing legacy company, in 1986. He is succeeding Randy Simons in this new role, who is retiring.
The new role will see Verbeck leading 6,000 financial employees and handling financial reporting for the three business segments of BDS: Boeing Military Aircraft, Network & Space Systems, and Global Services & Support. He will report to Dennis Muilenburg, president and CEO of BDS and James Bell, Boeing executive VP and CFO.
“In our business, we have to keep building momentum around our strong performance culture to best serve our customers and earn the opportunity to grow,” Muilenburg said. “Bob’s practical know-how in all disciplines of business finance will help us compete and innovate more effectively. His experience will have a direct impact on our ability to drive performance in all dimensions for our stakeholders, including customers, shareholders, employees and local communities.”
