SAIC announced today it's been awarded a contract to provide IT support to the U.S. Air Force.

The McLean, Va., company is charged with supporting network operations under the Network Centric Solutions-2 Enterprise Integration and Services Management contract.

The agreement is for a three-year period with two one-year options, and a total contract ceiling of $460 million.

NETCENTS-2 is a follow-up to the USAF’s NETCENTS 1. The contract calls for the acquisition of commercial information technologies, networking equipment and services, and voice, video and data communications hardware and software.

SAIC will also support the USAF with engineering, integration, and services management.

“We look forward to providing technical support for a wide range of enterprise-level activities, and helping sustain the full spectrum of netcentric operations and missions,” said Peter Dube, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. “By integrating complex legacy systems into a constantly evolving information architecture, we will help the USAF continue to ensure that warfighters remain effective and efficient, as their jobs demand
