Summit to Discuss State of Government Cybersecurity

The 2nd Annual Cybersecurity Summit will be held Feb. 24, 2011, featuring government, media and technology professionals involved in cybersecurity work.

FedScoop will play host to a plethora of cybersecurity experts, such as Army CIO Michael Krieger, HP’s Director of the U.S. Defense Command and Control Infrastructure retired Adm. Betsy Hight, Department of Justice CIO Vance Hitch, Department of Defense Deputy CIO and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Information Management Robert Carey, and Symantec Vice President GiGi Schumm.

Part of the FedTalks event series, the summit features discussions on government cybersecurity.

Panels will include “Securing the Cloud” with Department of the Army CIO Mike Krieger and “Law Enforcement’s Perspective on Cyber Crimes” with Executive Assistant Director of the FBI’s Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch Shawn Henry.

U.S. State Department Deputy Director of Information Assurance Gary Galloway, Robert Carey and NIST Deputy Chief Cybersecurity Adviser Donna Dodson will lead discussions.

Hight is also slated to give a keynote speech on cybersecurity in government.

The event will be held on the 7th floor of the Newseum located at 555 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., from 8 a.m. to noon. Federal executives may attend at no charge. Industry attendees pay a registration fee of $95.
