Telcordia announced last week Senior Vice President and General Manager of National Security and Cyber Infrastructure James F. X. Payne accepted a three-year posting to the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association International Cyber Committee.
Payne’s experience in the field of government technology earned him a spot as chair of the operating committees of President Bush’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, and as a strategic industry member on the NTIA Bush Task Force.
The AFCEA is a nonprofit organization that brings together experts in the communications, IT, intelligence and security fields to better serve the needs of government, the military and the public. The Cyber Committee acts as the group’s liaison to the cyber community.
The committee serves as a think tank for new solutions to cyber advances and challenges, as well as providing leadership for the organization’s global membership.
“Committee members include many of the world’s top cyber warriors who protect this nation’s vital assets, and Jim’s inclusion onto this very select team honors both him and Telcordia,” said Brent Greene, president of Telcordia’s Advanced Technology Solutions. “Jim and this committee’s work will help ensure the security and safety of our national communications and utilities infrastructure.”
