Powerwave to Present at CTIA - top government contractors - best government contracting eventPowerwave Technologies Inc., announced today plans to showcase its RapidFlex Mobile Deployment Unit and Nexus Repeaters at this weeks International CTIA Wireless 2011 convention.

The RMDU integrates mobile base stations with an antenna tower. Powerwave bills the unit as ideal for rapid deployment in remote or congested areas. The unit creates instant wireless bandwidth designed for use during emergencies, in command centers, with satellite communications and ship-to-shore communications.

“Powerwave“™s expertise and advanced solutions in the commercial wireless space uniquely enable us to leverage those solutions for government use in public safety and surveillance applications,“ said Jake MacLeod, vice president of Powerwave“™s Government Business Solutions Unit. “Our RMDU and Nexus repeaters are optimized for the latest 4G technologies, so they provide the capacity and coverage needed to ensure reliable communications for these very important government operations.“

Powerwave also announced today the release of the new wideband Nexus FT-MIMO repeaters. Powerwave repeaters are designed for indoor use to enhance security at public venues such as subways, airports, stadiums and shopping malls. Coverage extends 15 miles from the base station and supports multiple carriers and operation bands.
