The Home Shopping Network is warning its customers of a recent incident that could have exposed their names and emails to an unknown hacker.
In an email to customers obtained by The New New Internet, Gregg Stallwood, senior vice president of customer care at HSN, said the company had learned from its email provider, Epislon, that limited information about customers was accessed by an unauthorized individual or individuals.
The information did not include any financial or other sensitive information, he added.
“HSN’s internal databases, which stores all customer-provided data, were in no way compromised,” Stallwood continued in his email. “Our email provider has taken significant steps to further protect the limited customer information held in its databases.”
