IBM Opens Doors to Belgium-based Security Center - top government contractors - best government contracting eventIBM (NYSE: IBM) last week announced the launch of the IBM Institute for Advanced Security in Europe, an expansion of its companywide initiative to provide government and other organizations with a global network of security research, services, software and technology expertise.

Based in Brussels, the IBM Institute for Advanced Security in Europe will help address and mitigate the issues related to cybersecurity. The institute will also provide a forum for organizations to understand how recent IBM Research advances and wider IBM security expertise can help make decisions based on greater insight, while safeguarding the privacy and security of critical information. In addition, the center will address specific issues, including mobile device security.

IBM’s European clients rely upon vast amounts of information stored on distributed computer systems and openly shared across public and private networks, but they are struggling to effectively secure this vital information, said Martin Borrett, director of the IBM Institute for Advanced Security in Europe.

“The Institute for Advanced Security will link these organizations with IBM’s broad array of security scientists, researchers and experts to help them understand the complex issues associated with addressing their cybersecurity challenges,” he added.
