ManTech announced a pre-tax gain of $3.7 million during this year's second quarter in connection with EMC's acquisition of NetWitness, a company previously owned by ManTech.

NetWitness was sold by ManTech in 2006 in exchange for $2 million and a small stake in the company.

Many of NetWitness' products and systems refinements were made when the company was still part of ManTech. Those products and related services are an example of ManTech's ability to develop new software and systems to meet new challenges in the areas of cyber and network security.

ManTech founder and Chairman George J. Pedersen said the company is pleased with the success of NetWitness. He said he was also pleased with ManTech's role in contributing to U.S.  information safety.

“We are proud of our road with not only keeping the nation's information secure, but also in developing some of the products that help us do that,“ he said.
