The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association is set to launch its 10th Annual Naval IT Day June 9.
The conference showcases IT projects implemented across the Naval enterprise, with an emphasis on cybersecurity, cloud computing and virtualization.
Sponsored in part by area contracting firms such as Cisco, CACI, Booz Allen Hamilton, HP, Juniper Networks and Serco, AFCEA NOVA Naval IT Day expects to play host to more than 800 industry, military and government representatives.
Small business sessions, designed to introduce contractors to the Naval Small Business Advocates program, will take place throughout the day. Local schools will display STEM education projects, and command representatives will be present to speak with contractors about current needs and projects.
The conference will also offer keynote addresses and panel discussions. Expected speakers include Undersecretary of the Navy Robert O. Work, Vice Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert, and Terry Halvorsen, CIO, Department of the Navy.
