Honeywell International (NYSE: HON) announced today 250 teachers had been awarded scholarships to its Honeywell Educators at Space Academy Program.
From June 15-28, 2011, educators from 47 states and 27 countries will be hosted at the U.S Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala. The Honeywell Educators will partake in 45 hours of professional development coupled with intensive curriculum spotlighted on space science and exploration.
“This hands-on learning reinvigorates their lesson plans of science, technology, engineering and math education in classrooms around the globe and enhances their ability to inspire the next generation of leaders,” said Thomas Buckmaster, president of Honeywell Hometown Solutions.
Since 2004, Honeywell and its employees have sponsored 1,448 scholarships for teachers from 43 countries and all 50 states with a mission to further enrich science, engineering, technology and math in the world’s schools.
