President Barack Obama has announced his intent to appoint Jaime Dos Santos, current president and chief executive officer of Terremark Federal Group, to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
Joining Dos Santos in the committee are Scott Charney of Microsoft, Dick Costolo of Twitter, David G. DeWalt of McAfee, Lisa Hook of Neustar and John D. Goldman of the San Francisco Symphony Board of Governors. An announcement from the White House yesterday said Iridium Communications Inc CEO Matt Desch is also an appointee to be a member of the same committee.
“I am proud to appoint such impressive men and women to these important roles, and I am grateful they have agreed to lend their considerable talents to this administration,“ Obama said. “I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead.“
Dos Santos has been in the telecommunications industry since the very beginning of her career, a fact that was highlighted in her January 2011 interview with TheNewNewInternet. She started her career working for AT&T and moving to BellSouth. She then moved onto Bellcore, which was later acquired by SAIC. It was after her stint at SAIC she took on the role of chief executive office at Terremark Federal Group.
