Red Hat Names its 2011 Certified Professional of the Year

Red Hat has announced Director of Open Source Consulting at Emergent LLC Quint Van Deman as the 2011 Red Hat Certified Professional of the Year.

The award recognizes and honors the hard work, skills and creativity of those holding Red Hat certifications.

Director of Certification for Red Hat Randy Russell said the community of Red Hat across the globe is using its Red Hat certifications to continually help their companies and customers with successful IT deployments and migrations. Certifications are earned by passing rigorous practical exams in which candidates must perform the real-world tasks required in production environment.

Van Deman said he is honored to receive the Red Hat Certified Professional of the Year and credited Red Hat with helping elevate his service to Emergent’s customers.

“The skills I’ve acquired during my progression through the Red Hat certifications have enabled me to deliver results to Emergent’s customers by helping them harness the innovative power of open source solutions,” he said.

A special reception will be held for all who received Red Hat certifications during the Red Hat Summit and JBoss World in Boston on May 4.
