Business apps in the cloud just got a little more secure: Symantec Corp. today announced the launch of a new tool that will be available on the AppExchange, the first online marketplace for cloud-computing applications.
Symantec Security Assessment for Salesforce will help organizations extend the visibility of their IT infrastructure to include cloud-based applications such as Salesforce. The new software will integrate with the Symantec Control Compliance Suite, giving customers a comprehensive view of the security and compliance of information and applications whether they reside on premise or in the cloud.
With the new application, customers will be able to incorporate the assessment data into the Symantec Control Compliance Suite, an automated policy management solution. By integrating visibility of cloud-based applications into the Symantec Control Compliance Suite, organizations will be able to define and enforce security policies for cloud-based applications within a comprehensive solution that can be used across the organization“™s broader IT infrastructure.
