Boeing and Rolls-Royce have jointly launched a shared data service for the aerospace industry. The service will enable the companies to offer faster and efficient advice to airlines in an effort to maximize aircraft availability.
Boeing's VP of Information Services Per Noren said the co-operation between Boeing and Rolls-Royce will greatly benefit their customers. “Our relationship is industry leading and supports Boeing's continued focus on helping customers optimize performance in real-time,“ he said.
A first for the aerospace industry, data from an aircraft and the engines that power it will be combined on a single system. This is all done to provide customers with a more efficient and integrated data source, which will improve an airline's ability to manage its product health monitoring.
