Google saw an 8.4 percent increase in site visitors compared to May 2010. ComScore offers estimates based on a panel of 2 million Internet users and started tracking such traffic in 2006, a time when Google had approximately 496 million unique visitors per month.
Google wasn“™t the only site to see a rise in traffic. Mashable says Microsoft‘s sites saw a 15 percent increase, coming in at No. 2 with 905 million uniques. Facebook‘s numbers were up 30 percent, to 714 million. And Yahoo had 689 million.
Despite Google“™s achievement, Yahoo still retains more monthly visitors. Approximately 188.8 million people visited Yahoo“™s sites in May, compared to 180 million visitors to Google“™s.
