Harris Corp is announcing its release of the Falcon III AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radio system software.
The Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform, which is currently deployed to Afghanistan in the AN/PRC-117G by various branches of the Defense Department, delivers greater capabilities for wideband tactical communications to the battlefield.
The network allows up to 30 people to join and expands the area of network coverage in the field, which provides greater communication range leading to improved command, control and collaboration.
“The continued success of the AN/PRC-117G and its robust wideband network capabilities has allowed us to make these enhancements to the ANW2 waveform,“ said Brendan O'Connell, president of the Defense Department business for Harris RF Communications. “These enhancements will deliver more mission flexibility, broader collaboration and enhanced situational awareness to the tactical edge.“
Another new software, the ANW2 capability, is a novel “Sky Mode“ for airborne applications, allowing key leaders in aircraft to exchange data, including video, with units on the ground while mission is underway.
