HP Enterprise Services Public Sector Chief Technologist Jeff Bergeron has been named a commissioner for TechAmerica Foundation’s Commission on the Leadership Opportunity in U.S. Deployment of the Cloud, also known as CLOUD2.

Bergeron and a team of other cloud experts will work to provide the Obama administration with recommendations for how government should use cloud technologies and help develop public policies that aim to drive U.S. innovation and leadership in the cloud, HP Enterprise Services said in a release.

“Benefits of the federal government using cloud technology include allowing agencies to obtain the mission-critical services they need efficiently, securely while enabling cost optimization,” Bergeron said. “HP is able to support the White House’s cloud-first policy by helping government agencies develop a holistic cloud strategy to maximize the elastic, pay-per-use and on-demand advantages of cloud computing.”
