Northrop Grumman Unveils News Technologies in Empire Challenge

Northrop Grumman recently showcased new technologies during the U.S. Joint Forces Command's Empire Challenge 2011.

Demonstrated live, the firm developed a virtual environment that embodied the simulations of other company ISR systems which included the Bat Unmanned Aircraft System, Global Hawk UAS and Joint STARS. The data collected from the simulations were analyzed, exploited and disseminated to showcase how new technologies can help warfighters.

“Empire Challenge not only directs the warfighter to directly participate in various concepts of operations, but it also offers Northrop Grumman a chance to collect feedback from the user community on the introduction of a range of information, surveillance and reconnaissance collection and processing, exploitations and dissemination solutions,“ said Chris Frangos, chief architect of Northop Grumman Aerospace Systems.

Northrop Grumman has participated in the Empire Challenge since 2007 and has collaborated with the USJFCOM intelligence directorate.
