ClearedJobs.net recently held its Cleared Job Fair in Washington, D.C., which featured such companies as CACI, L-3 Communications, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, ManTech, Mission Essential Personnel, Northrop Grumman, SAIC and USIS.
The site helps those who have worked in government and have security clearance. Most of the job seekers had held jobs in government for 20 years and had no prior knowledge of how job fairs work or how to best use social-networking websites in their job search. They received advice on how to best build resumes and how to navigate their way through networking seminars, among other services.
The website“™s Chief Marketing Officer Kathleen Smith talked to GovWin.com and said as few as 25 percent of attendees were fully prepared, and advised them to have positive attitudes and adapt to the mindset of a job seeker. In particular, she warned job seekers to be careful about revealing too much personal information on social-networking sites.
